Review: Titanic Eco Spa ‘A Girls Night In”

I was invited with a handful of other online bloggers/journalists on a press trip to visit the Titanic Spa and experience its utter amazingness. Our trip was themed around ditching the party dress for a comfortable, fluffy dressing gown and having some girl time.

On arrival we were given our itineraries and greeted with welcome drinks whilst our bags were taken up to our apartments. After our welcome drinks we had our lunch and was given a tour of the facilities. Without waiting any longer we all hurried to our rooms almost racing to get into our brown fluffy bear like gowns and slippers.. the exact gown and slippers we saw many spa users wearing to lunch, this relaxed atmosphere appealed to me instantly.

I headed straight down to the ‘Heat and Ice Experience’ room.  What is the heat & Ice experience room you ask? Click HERE to see what it offers. After some time in the sauna and watching a brave lady who took the ice cold bucket plunge, it was time for my 3pm ‘Pinks Boutique Massage’, my therapist Sarah-Louise greeted me with a smile, sat me down and explained my massage to me and handed me a form to fill in.

The ‘Pinks Boutique Massage’ is a light touch massage that helps to rid the body of toxins, it is tailored to your needs by way of smell, I was asked to smell 3 different oils, I chose the ‘lemongrass’ oil, the smell was so uplifting, before I knew it I was nodding off. My massage lasted 55 minutes, Sarah-Louise gently bought me back round, gave me a glass of water and left me in the room to come round a bit. I was sooo zoned out, I laid on the bed for at least 5 minutes to de zombiefy myself.

I also booked myself in for a ‘Decleor Purify Facial’ which I was in desperate need for as I was breaking out, my skin really did need some TLC. The facial was lovely and I fell asleep during this treatment also. In fact, I pretty much remember myself falling asleep in a lot of places around the spa.

Our evening was finished off with a lovely dinner and a girly night with robes, slippers, popcorn, wine and plenty of laughter. I couldn’t have asked for a better group to go with, all the girls were so lovely and we all got on like a house on fire.

I have decided to break down my review into sections, there was so much to review and consider and I didnt want to seem like I was waffling on too much so here goes.

Food:

Lunch was nice but I feel healthier options should be considered. There needs to be a larger selection of Salads and also fruit should be offered. I often have fruit for lunch as a light option and if by any chance you are booked into a treatment straight after lunch, fruit goes down nicely without being too heavy.

Dinner was lovely, I opted for ‘Steak with oven roasted vegetables’, the steak was well done and to my liking and the presentation of the food was lovely.

Accommodation:

I was left speechless as soon as I walked into our apartment, words cannot describe so please see the images below!

The apartments as you can see were AMAZING! So amazing that there were actual residents living in the block. They are clean, modern, spacious and fully equipped, the only downer for me was that there was no hand wash in any of the three bathrooms we had :(.

Facilities:

The Spa facilities were PERFECT! CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN – which to me is the most important thing. The Changing rooms/ Toilets almost resembled a celebrity dressing room with dim lighting and lit candles. The Heat & Ice experience was by far my favourite out of all the facilities, it had such a mood balancing atmosphere about it.

Ambience:

Titanic Eco Spa is clearly about PURE relaxation and recuperation of the mind and body. The calming nature and gentle speaking tones of the staff make your time at the Spa completely relaxing. I found myself winding down quite easily and falling asleep in many places around the spa. The entire Spa is lit with candles and dim lighting to really create a calm enviroment.

Best Selling Point:

For me, Titanic’s BSP is their Eco friendly nature, you can read their Eco Credentials HERE

I had such an amazing time at the Spa, I dont think I have laughed so much in ages and more importantly this trip proved to me how important it really is to take some time out to recuperate. I work crazy hours and hardly sleep, the only thing good is my diet which could be better, being at Titanic Spa allowed me to really switch off (with Macbook withdrawal).

Lastly I must mention the fabulous East Coast train we took to Leeds! The seats were huge, the service was perfect and the Wifi… well… can I ask for anything more? Our 2 hour journey flew by in comfort with regular offerings of Pastries and coffee.

Ill leave you with some images from our girls night in 🙂

Do you need some down time? Visit Titanic Eco Spa, You wont regret it.
