I do love a face mask and admittedly I can be extremely lazy when it comes to taking the time to use them however, the results you get after using a good one are amazing. My current fave at the moment is the Bioré One Minute Self Heating Mask.
The box contains 4 easy rip sachets, you apply the clay mud evenly to your face, leave for one minute and rinse off. The mask does wonderful things to my skin.. firstly it heats up on contact, the heat for me really penetrates my mucky, clogged areas. I tend to use a hot flannel to take the mask off as I feel I get a better result then when I just rinse. The results are amazing, my skin always looks cleaned and fresh it’s definitely a product I restock.
The quick and easiness of the product is a winner for me, women don’t always have time to sit for 20 mins and wait for a face mask to stew, so the fact that the Bioré mask is a one minute quick fix is a total winner for me.
What’s your fave quick fix mask and why?
Hema Kaul’s collection for SS15 saw the return of 1950s glamour where the feminine figure was celebrated and enhanced. Kaul’s love for travel has her travelling far and wide for fabrics and inspiration and this collection ‘Le vie en rose’ had a very strong vintage influence.
Her highly feminised designs were accompanied by a striking hair and make-up look, courtesy of The BodyShop and Toni & Guy, who looked at Lana Del Ray as a main source of influence. Sexy feline eyes with a dramatic lip had a powerful feminist vibe which suited some of the arguably androgynous outfits.
This look was created by BodyShop’s one and only Lan Nguyen-Grealis and her magic began with the ‘All In One BB Cream’ providing great coverage and a smooth base to begin contouring on. I actually tried some of this product on myself and the smooth application blended very well and it felt quite dewy and light on the skin. It moisturises well and the minuscule pigmented capsules make the cream a white colour at first but it soon begins to merge in with your own skin colour. It really is a niche little BB Cream and at £12 you can’t go wrong.
To create the sexy eyes seen on the runway, Grealis used the ‘Smoky 2 in 1 Gel Eyeliner’, £10, which can handily be used on your brows too. BodyShop has incorporated Community Fair Trade Marula Oil with its intensely dark pigments leaving a great finish. Able to last up to 12 hours, this is the perfect liner for a night in the city without fear of wear and tear or wonky eyebrows.
A huge favourite of mine are the ‘Colour Crush Eye Shadows’. Used on every catwalk show, their bright pigments and the wonderful range of colours available make them a must have in everyone’s lives. For Kaul, ‘Oh honey’, ‘Chocolate Linger’ and ‘Sugar Gaze’ were meld together to create a sultry undertone for the liner. They can be used either wet or dry to create a variation of textures and for £7 each they’re an absolute bargain.
BodyShop are always guaranteed to sell products with your skin and heart in mind. From working with local people in foreign countries to produce the best ingredients to helping you match the right products for your individual needs and look.

Infused with the scents of India, the Lotus candle from Rituals Limited Edition Summer Collection really is a moment of calm. Ingredients such as Yi Yi Ren and White Lotus really make this the ultimate summer burner. The scent is subtle, sweet and calming and lasts for hours. I have only burnt the candle an hour at a time and my room smells amazing for hours afterwards.
It’s a beautiful summer scent, I highly recommend

A few weeks back I went along to the lovely Aveda Institute for much pampering. I was booked in for the new ‘Stress Fix’ massage which is clinically proven to reduce feelings of stress and tension. The massage combines Swedish, Thai and deep tissue massage techniques, along with foot reflexology, acupressure points and guided meditation to calm and rejuvenate you.
The massage incorporates the Stress-Fix aroma with Lavender, Lavandin, and Clary Sage throughout, and you can choose choose to be treated for 45 minutes, a full hour, or a lovely hour and 15 minutes, I had an hour of pure bliss and relaxation.
On arrival by feet were soaked with the Aveda ‘Stress Fix’ salts, I was then popped on to the massage table where my whole body literally head to toe was worked on. I have had massages in the past where i’ve not felt any difference on leaving, however leaving the Aveda Institute I felt like I had really been worked on. I am often being told I should get regular massages as the tension in my shoulders due to excessive computer work builds up pretty quick. My masseuse was AMAZING and I can hands down say the ‘Stress Fix’ massage was probably the best I’ve EVER experienced.
I left feeling rejuvenated and loose, the masseuse really worked on my shoulders using different massage techniques and what was great it she wasn’t afraid to get in to the nooks and crannies to work out knots.
I cant recommend the Aveda institute enough. Massage prices start from £53 and are so worth the investment. You can check out the treatment list here.

Packed with sweet orange and cedar wood this heavenly thick and creamy body cream is butter in a tub. It has become my after shower ‘ritual’ (no pun intended) on daily basis that I am sad to see the bottom of the tub.
Rituals have used some kind of special technology that makes this whipped cream easy to apply, soaking into the skin with ease which is a bonus as most thick creamy creams take a lot of rubbing and teasing into the skin before the white residue finally disappears.
The formulation is very rich and velvety and my skin feels lovely and moisturised and super skily throughout the day post application. The smell from the natural ingredients is not too strong or too placid.. its just right and really invigorating in the mornings. Its definitely a great body cream that I would purchase.
The price of £15.00 is pretty reasonable for the natural ingredients, luxury and overall skincare you get in return.
